FestivALL and KCPL will team up for a perfect combination of family fun and used book bargains during the 2022 Children’s Art Fair. The Children’s Art Fair offers young local artists the chance to display their artwork on Capitol Street in Downtown Charleston on Saturday, June 25th. As part of this year’s event, KCPL will offer activities and games for children at the renovated Main Library. Plus, this year’s Art Fair features the return of KCPL’s Used Book Sale.
KCPL’s Art Fair activities include games for kids of all ages – corn hole, connect 4, and ring toss games, along with free water and snacks. The fun kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday and runs through 5 p.m. on the KCPL Plaza on the 100 block of Capitol Street.
Also, KCPL Children’s Services will host a performance of the River City Youth Ballet Ensemble, featuring both classical ballet and contemporary pieces. Visit the Library’s 4th Floor for an afternoon of dance from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, KCPL’s annual summer Used Book Sale will be held inside the library on Saturday in the new third-floor meeting room, from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This year’s sale marks the return of the Used Book Sale after a two-year absence due to construction at the Main Library. It offers not only a great selection of books, but used art prints as well.
All children’s events are free and open to the public.
