Event Details
Kokedama is a centuries-old Japanese form of garden art that is closely tied to the practice of bonsai. “Koke” means moss, and “dama” means ball. Kokedama involves using a moss ball as the support and focal point for a plant whose roots have been wrapped in a ball of soil and then covered with moss. The moss ball is either fixed to a platform, like a dish or a bowl, or suspended in the air with a string.
The class includes a PowerPoint, detailed instructions and demonstration of how to wrap the plant into a moss ball. A drawing at the end of class will give away one kit.
Pam King has been a member of the Kanawha County Master Gardener Association since 2019. With varying degrees of success, Pam considers herself a container gardener, using a variety of containers to plant vegetables and flowers strategically around her house on the West Side.
Registration is required to participate in this program.
