Thanks to KCPL's generous community partner, the Charleston Dirty Birds, readers who borrow 5 picture books from any KCPL location between Nov 13 - Dec 12, 2023 earn a FREE CHILD'S TICKET to attend KCPL Night at the Dirty Bird Salango Law Light the Night on Weds, Dec 13 from 4 - 9 pm.
Readers/families may register in the library or on Beanstack and claim free ticket(s) at the library when books are borrowed.
KCPL Light the Night at the park is a special event on Weds, Dec 13 from 4 - 9 pm.
The first hour of activities (from 4 - 5 pm) is specifically for KCPL ticket holders and will include special stories and activities (and perhaps a visit from some local celebrities) followed by an evening of lights and more until 9 pm.
Each FREE CHILD'S TICKET is for ages 5 -12 (as ages 4 and under are free), limit 4 per family, while supplies last, and only valid for Weds, Dec 13.

The FREE CHILD’S TICKET covers the cost of admission to the Light the Night event and provides "...access to the breathtaking walk-through experience of more than 2 million lights with numerous themed areas, vendors, and visits with Santa Claus!"
There are other paid activities available including Santa photos, train rides, ice skating/skate rental, the Euro jump, ferris wheel rides, bounce houses, festive treats (food and drink), and holiday goodies from local vendors.

Main Library Patrons with strollers, wheelchairs, or other wheeled devices will find it easier to use the Jacobson Tower entrance on Quarrier Street or the Skybridge entrance via Summers Street Garage.

This program is designed for children and accompanying adults. Please plan to attend and be engaged with your child for this program. Drop offs will not be permitted.
